Selangor FC officially announced today Zach Clough as the Red Giants fifth new import player for the 2025/26 Malaysian League season, including international campaigns in the ACL Two and ASEAN Club Championship.

Clough, 30, began his professional career with Bolton Wanderers F.C. as one of the club's promising young prospects. He broke into the Bolton Wanderers F.C. senior team in 2015 and scored 23 goals in 77 appearances. His talent later earned him a move to Nottingham Forest F.C. for 31 games, before spells with Wigan Athletic F.C. and Carlisle United F.C.

The English attacking midfielder then made the leap to the A-League in 2022, where he became a fan favourite at Adelaide United F.C. for his creativity, leadership, and consistency in the final third. Made an exceptional stint with 93 appearances, scored 22 goals, and was once named Player of the Year in the 2023/24 season.

Zach hopes his adaptability and years of experience in the football world will help him settle in quickly and give his best in this new challenge, “I’m focused on adapting quickly by working hard, speaking with the players, and understanding what the coach wants from me. I’ve had the chance to play under many managers at different clubs, and I’ve faced both highs and setbacks along the way. All of that experience has shaped me, and I believe it’s prepared me for this new challenge at Selangor and giving everything for the team.”
